AGEE Purple Glass Insulator c.1930s AGM Sun-Coloured Amethyst Staffordshire ceramics The iridescent surface displays aAGEE glass telegraph insulator, Australian manufacture (AGM), c. 1930s. Originally clear glass, now a deep amethyst tone from long term sunlight exposure (manganese reaction). Classic pony profile used on lower voltage telegraph and telephone lines. Embossed AGEE to skirt. Displays well with strong colour in natural light. ConditionVery good vintage condition. Light surface wear and minor scuffs consistent with outdoor use. No cracks noted.
