The breeding to develop this includes crosses with Hosta 'Hush Puppie', Hosta 'Silver Bay', Hosta 'Blue Mouse Ears', and Hosta 'Cracker Crumbs'. Hosta 'Fingernails' is a vigorous midget that only reaches 1" tall x 8" wide and is composed of tiny 1" long x . 5" wide dark green leaves, attached to a visible
