Despite repeated claims of no frost tolerance, our plants survived single digits F with no problem. The brown fleshy leaves, which appear to be composed of hard rubber, occur in pairs. As the plant grows, a new leaf pair emerges from the center, causing the old leaves to slough off. In October, the 1" tall, living stones, are topped with 1"
