Lycoris rosea Red Sunset Yugoslavia (former) but instead a much moreLycoris x rosea 'Red Sunset' is a Phil Adams cross of Lycoris sprengeri 'Hayward' x Lycoris radiata that was subsequently backcrossed again with Lycoris radiata. Lycoris 'Red Sunset' produces a 2' tall bronze stalk, topped with spidery petaled, rosy red flowers, lightly tipped in dark blue. For us, the flower stalks arise from bare ground, starting in early August (NC). After flowering, the narrow, liriope like foliage emerges in fall and persists
