Aucuba japonica Shugetsu Nepeta Agave 'Mateo' is a uniqueAucuba japonica 'Shugetsu' (translated as 'New Year') is one of the most unusual Japanese aucuba selections we've grown. Almost certainly a tetraploid, Aucuba 'Shugetsu' shares many traits with tet daylilies abnormally thick stems and foliage. The tree trunk like stalk supports a 6' tall, vase shape plant that's narrow at the base and widens slightly toward the tip. The 9" long evergreen leaves are very dark green with a wide golden central pattern
