Native to moist slopes and low woods from Minnesota south to Alabama, Lilium michiganense is a vigorous and easy to grow lily that spreads nicely by underground rhizomes. In spring, the 6' tall stems of whorled leaves shoot skyward. In June July, the stems are topped with one or two bright orange red, pendent flowers with a yellow central
