This splendid form of the vigorous North American native Agave lophantha came to us from plantsman Ted Stephens of Nurseries Caroliniana
after we admired it in his former Tampa
The stems are topped from May-September with clusters of 2" yellow daisies that emit a delicious fragrance of chocolate
they have always resprouted nicely when summer warmth arrived
Crinum Lolita RHS Award of Merit Winners Epimedium x youngianum 'Fairy Dust'Many crinum growers consider Crinum 'Lolita' one of the best crinum lilies ever introduced. Crinum 'Lolita' is a very vigorous 1995 Crinum scabrum hybrid from the late crinum breeder, Dr. Thad Howard. The 4' long, glossy green foliage is a base for the sturdy, giant 3. 5' tall spikes that end in terminal clusters of up to 18 rosy red, fragrant, chalice shaped flowers during the summer months.
