all awards to UK troops were awarded with impressed naming although some awards made for the Far East were engraved locally
Historical Background
Before 1 December 1977 18 years of service was required for consideration for the LS&GCM (Army)
and those deployed to the JOA under national command in support of the NATO operation

The scarcest issue of the badge, this is struck and then enamelled in vitreous enamels in the manner of the original badge. Constructed from several pieces, these awards are assembled by hand. Subsequent awards are denoted by the adding of further bars to the ribbon.
