Scutellaria Appalachian Blues PP 34854 Ammocharis Rohdea japonica 'Miyako-no-Jo' is aScutellaria 'Appalachian Blues' is a new North Creek Nursery introduction of a hybrid between two US native woodland skullcaps, Scutellaria serrata and ovata. The small clumps, which are similar to Scutellaria serrata, reach 1' tall x 20" wide, clothed with thumb size green leaves that emerge with a narrow black border. The deciduous clump is topped, starting for us in early May, with stalks of violet flowers that rise 4" above the mound of foliage.
