Description
It provided a visible distinction for French and Allied military personnel who were individually cited in official orders for their conduct during the First World War
The Northern Ireland Home Service Medal (full size) was instituted 1st July 1992
Instituted following the formation of the UDR on 1 April 1970
Awarded for courage and devotion to duty whilst flying
The original medals used the MSM with the words Meritorious Service removed and "Conspicuous Gallantry" engraved in their place
