The 15" tall x 1' wide thick clumps of glossy green foliage are topped from midsummer until frost with a massive floral show of creamy cups after each rain and with sporadic flowering even in drier periods

Sarracenia excellens Sarcococca pinkish lavender foliage with contrastingSarracenia x excellens is a natural hybrid of the white topped Sarracenia leucophylla and the hooded Sarracenia minor. The result is a fascinating pitcher plant with large red hoods, striped white, and a white spotted neck that's not caused by a skin rash. The spring borne flowers are usually an attractive green with red petals. Our offerings are all nursery seed grown, and as such vary with the amount of coloration in each seedling.
